An Open Letter to Myself from 2021

Continuing the tradition that I began on this blog a year ago (which you can check out here), I decided to use my Imagination and Creativity once again to conjure up a realistic image within my mind’s eye of what I would like the next year to be like for me, and what I would like for it to bring into my experience.

In order to communicate with the subconscious mind, one must turn to images, feelings, and as many senses as possible to trigger familiarity and to “convince” oneself that what is being described is real, not imaginary. Unlike the conscious mind - a more rational, logical, no-nonsense aspect of the way we think and perceive the world around us - the subconscious mind is based on beliefs instead of logic. Beliefs can’t be right or wrong; they simply either are or aren’t part of ourselves. Creating a new belief is possible through creating an experience that the subconscious mind can’t tell apart from the “reality” that it perceives, which is why feelings, images, and sensory experiences play such a key part.

This is why I will be using a descriptive format for addressing myself from the future. I will be pulling in specific details that will feel convincing to myself in order for me to be able to perceive them as “real”, which has proven, previously, to help them REALLY become real and true in my actual life. I will focus only on the most important highlights of what I would like to manifest, create and add to my life over the next year - but I will intentionally let the specific measurable goals and metrics out, because that may potentially sabotage something bigger and better that may match my desires even more. I have learned to make room for miracles by focusing only on the general direction and the feeling that I want and turning the details over to the Creator to sort out on my behalf.

"To my Beloved Self from January 3rd, 2021 -

This year is off to a great start with much joy shared over the holidays. All is well, everyone as healthy, I have been spending much time with my loved ones, and more than ever now I have so much to be grateful for. I want to document this gratitude for all the victories that have come my way over the span of the year 2020 that has just come to an end:

1. I am grateful for the wisdom that has led me to realize at the dawn of last year that in order to attract that which I desire, to focus more and procrastinate less, I must create simplicity and clear mental space. In order to do so, I wrote down the main focus points of my professional life and created a few clear, simple, every-five-year-old-could-understand type plans for each of those focus points. Then, I displayed them everywhere and incorporated them into my daily journaling routine, into my day planner, my calendar, my vision board, my phone and laptop screensavers, and brought my attention to them over and over again which has helped me keep my focus on what is truly important.

2. I am grateful for the generous supply of abundance, wealth and prosperity constantly flowing into my life. I remember realizing at the end of 2019 that the only blocks I had still holding me back from the quality of life that I knew I always wanted were related to fears and outdated belief systems that were not even truly part of who I am. Since the very start of 2020 I successfully reprogrammed my thoughts to focus that which I want while knowing that I already deserve to have it, no matter what it is, and must only actively allow it into my experience through intentional thoughts and actions that support my desires, not the lack of them. I found the process to be fun, even thrilling. This practice often brought me more than I would ask for, affirming that I am indeed loved and cherished by the Creator that made me.

3. I am grateful for the community of individuals, local and global, that the content I have been creating and sharing, online and offline, has attracted. I have welcomed numbers far larger than I have expected as subscribers to my personal YouTube and TikTok channels (along with other social media related to my personal brand) and have watched the local projects which I led and directed take off far more than I ever imagined they could. Though it feels wonderful to have so much support in my community and across the globe, I am even more grateful for the chance and the privilege to shine light on the subjects I truly care about, and to give platform to individuals and organizations to share their stories in a way that educates, inspires, and motivates others.

4. I am grateful for tremendous growth that I have experienced as a public figure, and I appreciate all the opportunities that I have taken and learned from to serve as a public speaker, an actress and a model. I am humbled by the expansion of this professional focus and my goal remains to be all about inspiring others to accept themselves for who they truly are and to live their lives as the best version of the unique individual they came to this planet to be.

5. I am grateful for the spiritual growth, the harmony and balance in my relationship with myself and with the Divine. The past year has brought me much joy in growing ever closer to my true purpose in life, and following my intuition has been tremendously helpful in all the challenging situations that I have experienced. I am overjoyed in knowing that the Creator loves me unconditionally, along will all of the Creation of which I am but one aspect. I am blessed in understanding that the Divine Wisdom and the Eternal Love are always just a thought away. Meditating frequently, staying in touch with the needs of my body, and tuning into my emotions has become my navigating system out of every problem, and I am grateful for my life more than I have ever experienced before.

I want to conclude this letter by expressing just how happy I am, and how much I love my experience in this beautiful life, my strong and healthy body, my wonderful family, my dearest soul friends, and all of the people whose lives have touched my own. I am overflowing with gratitude for the multitude of blessings that have been bestowed upon me. I have absolute and total trust that I am on the right path and that all is well, all is as it should be. Thank you, year 2020, for bringing me so much learning, so many victories, and such a great variety of unforgettable experiences.

I embark on this new chapter of my life going into 2021 with lightness and bliss.
